Call this progress?

EU Referendum features a new toy for the US military.

With seating for up to four people, a maximum speed of 25 mph and a range of 35 miles on a full charge, the Neighborhood Electric Vehicle - or NEV - is "pretty much perfect" for everyday administrative transportation requirements.

Big deal. We've had these sort of things in the UK for donkeys years, capable of a similar range, speed and able to carry a payload of around 30cwt.

We used to call them "milk floats".
