Our future is all behind us

I have to admit that I was ever so slightly amused by the news that Poland has offended the sensibilities of the EU by mentioning the war.

The EU likes to pretend that ignoring the second world war means that it is a forward looking organisation - when all it really means is that it is refusing to acknowledge the recent past and a major part of history. And as anyone who reads my blog regularly will know, I believe ignoring history is the biggest mistake anyone can make as that is where you will find the information to provide you with the knowledge to plan for the future.

For instance, if you want to know how the EU is going to end up - then take a look at the last attempt to create a federalist superstate with a massive centralised bureaucracy, an intolerance to dissent and the arrogance to believe it could ride roughshod over the will of the people in the pursuit of a goal.
