Non-work ethic

You know, it's shocking enough to read that there are some 3 million households with 1.7 million children where there is no worker present - the worst in the developed world, apparently.

But to hear that 80% of them aren't even bothering to look for a job is disgraceful.

I'm afraid I don't buy all this guff about "incapacity". With universal health care, better drugs and medical procedures than ever before it is beyond belief that the result of that would mean millions more people who are unable to work than 50 years ago.

If sixty years of the NHS has really resulted in more and more "incapacitated" people - then maybe the NHS isn't half as good as the government would like us to believe.

I reckon 95% of them are scrounging layabouts - the rest are sponging junkies. Take away their benefits and most of them would suddenly find themselves making remarkable recoveries. There's plenty of work to be had this time of year and if these bone idle wasters would get off their backsides and do it we wouldn't be importing east Europeans by the thousands to pick fruit.

Time to sort this mess out before those 1.7 million kids grow up and have children of their own to pass the non-work ethic on to.

I think the problem is the employment industry which basically refuses to employ huge groups of people. Unemployed people do want to work but a huge number of people shy people, ethnic minorities, etc are discriminated. Why are ethnic minorities more unemployed than white people. Is it because ethnic minorities are lazy or is the more likely explanation racism.

I think that's a rather tired cop out.

Or that they can claim racism as a cover for laziness, knowing many will fall for it.
