John Prescott says he "hasn't decided" whether he will sit in the House of Lords once he steps down as an MP. Funny, I didn't think it was his decision to make - I was under the impression that one had to be invited by Her Majesty, but Prezza has always been an arrogant sod.
He says "Do I really want to be in the Lords five or six days a week doing what I do now?"
That would be bugger all, then. Just about the only achievement Prescott managed in 10 years of government was succeeding in screwing up virtually anything he attempted. Transport is a mess, the Millennium Dome was a pile of tosh, constitutional "reform" amounted to an act of vandalism greater than any ever seen and his only "connection" with the voters was a right hook.
Two Jags would be better off taking a leaf out of John Profumo's book. Retire gracefully and spend the rest of his life trying to make amends for the harm he has done.
