The disclosure of the BNP membership list has got the witch hunt underway - with all 43 police forces checking the list against names of officers and staff. Welcome to the new McCarthyism. I wonder if those lefties who so adamantly opposed the methodology of McCarthy will be as vociferous about this? I doubt it.
I'm not sure how the list got to be revealed, but I doubt whether it was accidental. I'm sure whoever did it was motivated to do some harm to the BNP - if this is the case, then I think their tactic is going to backfire enormously.
The British people don't take kindly to this sort of persecution of ordinary people - and the list reveals that the vast majority of BNP members are just that; ordinary people doing ordinary jobs with ordinary interests. The media like to paint a picture of the average BNP member as a shaven-headed, tattooed, sloping forehead, snarling racist thug - but thanks to this revelation we can now see that the membership is just a bunch of everyday folk just like you and me.
I don't think the BNP could have got better publicity if they tried.

I think it will - read any MSM message board that is discussing it - a lot of people state they can't stand the BNP but they hate the attempt to gag and harass members of a legal political party even more...
Spectatular own goal!
