Never the twain

If there is one thing that we can learn from the Moslem Major rampaging through a US camp shooting some forty people and killing thirteen, it is that Islam and liberal democracy are totally incompatible.

Here we have a man who had risen to the rank of Major - a doctor and supposedly moderate Moslem - who chooses to massacre his fellow countrymen because he sees them as a threat to his true nation; the nation of Islam. It's nothing new. We've had doctors and primary school teachers in this country do similar things.

Of course, the authorities will try and play down the role that Islam played in this. Just like we've seen in this country when Moslems kill fellow citizens indiscriminately the Islamic "community leaders" crawl out of the woodwork to express their concerns - their concerns that their religion will be blamed - and the national leaders fall over themselves as they rush to explain that this is nothing to do with Islam.

It is everything to do with Islam. There may be moderate Moslems, but there is no moderate Islam. Until there is then we will have to accept that the west and Islam can not get along together. As long as we pretend otherwise they will keep killing us and we will keep killing them.

We should get out of their lands and they should get out of ours.

Unfortunately it's a bit tricky for us to get out of their lands. They have stuff that we need: oil.

I do agree on the other point. I find it rather annoying that whenever a terrorist incident like this occurs, a bunch of characters (both muslim and non-muslim) drone on about how islam means peace.

It is often said, sometimes almost ad nauseum, that 'Not all Moslems are terrorists'.

While that may be the case, it seems to me that most terrorists are Moslems.

We do not have to be in their lands to buy their oil any more than they need to be here to buy our cars.

Wherever Islam spreads there is conflict. This has been the case for 1400 years and there is no indication that this will change. I do not believe this to be a coincidence.

It is always and everywhere impossible to speak in such a manner that your meaning cannot be mistaken. Many eminent Muslim scholars have asserted that Islam, correctly interpreted, is a religion of peace. They are probably right for what little it's worth. The trouble is that the Koran together with the hadith, can be, and all too often are, interpre3ted as a bullies' charter justifying mysogyny, murder mayhem and oppression. It matters not what the correct interpretation is- the undeniable fact that the latter interpretation is common is all we need to know.
Oh, and exactly where are these muslim lands? I know of no muslim lands as I do not rcognise right by conquest. Mecca itself was not muslim until the muslim faction conquered it, far less is any other place muslim:- except in the sense that the present inhabitants choose that religion by their own free will- uninfluenced by death threats for apostacy.

Stan, you're correct. To trade with a nation does not mean that a large group of your citizens must live there. I raised the oil issue in order to emphasise the fact that oil is the only reason that the West engages with Muslim nations.

Which, admittedly, raises the question: Why didn't we simply go to Saddam Hussein and say 'Please may we buy some oil? How much are you selling it for?'

As to the answer to that question: I haven't a Danny la Rue...

'It is everything to do with Islam. There may be moderate Moslems, but there is no moderate Islam'

Which is the key point. Islam was spread by the sword in the 6th C and it continues to be so today.

They also engage in Da'Wa or their 'evangelistic' activities. This is where the institutions of a country are 'Islamified' - which is what is/has been happening with our political class - hence the 'national leaders fall over themselves as they rush to explain that this is nothing to do with Islam.'

Within a few years, you'll be doing gaol time for writing a post like this.

It's a religion of peace, and they'll behead anyone who says it's not.
