South Africa doing a Zimbabwe

Reuters has the news that the South African government are to follow in the footsteps of Robert Mugabe with forced land seizures of land from white farmers.

Personally, I don't find this surprising. I won't be surprised if inside 20-25 years South Africa will be a basket case nation similar to Zimbabwe - but on a bigger scale and, consequently, a much bigger headache for the world.

Your linked story is not new although they may be stepping up the program. Nevertheless it is clear that South Africa does seem to be on the downward slide. This Spectator article is pretty good - free to view till next Thursday

I knew that land redistribution was ongoing, but the news that it is to become forced land redistribution was new to me.
