Gordon Brown has pledged to "kick out" foreign prisoners serving time in our prisons.
Gordon Brown has promised to deport 4,000 foreign prisoners this year. The Prime Minister vowed to make a vast increase on the 2,700 sent home last year.
I guess it sounds like a tough stance, but I suspect it all depends on how many are due for release each year. It may be 4000 this year, but only 500 next. Even so, Mr Brown makes the right noises.
Mr Brown said: 'We are going to take a far tougher line. I want a message to go out - if you come here you work and learn our language. If you commit a crime you will be deported. You play by the rules or you face the consequences.'
Sounds pretty unequivocal - and it is the sort of thing we should have been hearing from the Tories or UKIP - and have been hearing from the BNP. As I said the other day, when the Tories decided to leave their lines and march en masse into Labour territory they left a big gap which someone would fill. Who'd have thought it would be the Labour party running a flanking manoeuvre?
Of course, I don't believe a word of it. It is just Labour trying to win back some ground they have lost to the BNP from their working class constituents, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating and I don't doubt for a minute that the only winners of this "tough stance" will be the human rights industry.

Good call. It's becoming apparent that everybody realises the mistake Cameron's made - except Cameron.
