30 years to win war on terror

He added that no matter how much work the Government puts into improving Britain's ability to detect and thwart terrorist plots, the threat will only be overcome by persuading Muslims not to engage in violence.

You got to admire his optimism.

Personally, I think it's going to take much longer than 30 years - after all, we've failed to persuade them in the previous 1300 years. Lord West need not worry about his prediction, though - apart from the fact he'll probably be dead by then, Britain will either be an Islamic Republic or fighting a long and protracted war of independence against a predominantly Moslem "EU" in thirty years time.
